Moderator of the
Presbytery of Redstone
2008
Michael Orsted
I am a Midwesterner having lived most of my life in Illinois and Wisconsin. I was educated in the Midwest – BA from the University of Chicago and M Div from University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. In Dubuque I met and married my life’s companion: Linda, who is now the library director at Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels.
I have served the church as pastor, member and chair of various committees at the presbytery and synod level. I have served the communities I lived in as police chaplain, president of library board, of school board, of amateur theater group and treasurer of domestic abuse shelter.
Linda and I have 2 daughters: Elizabeth and her husband, Barry and granddaughter, Emma in Boston and Ingrid at home.
Peacemaking has been a lifelong goal for all the groups that I have chaired. I hope that with the grace of God we will have a year of peace in the Presbytery of Redstone.
